What are we trying to accomplish?

The goals of the conference are to build capacity for health research in communities, bridge the divide between Traditional wisdom and western science, and blend Elder wisdom with youth technology to provide direction and focus in community research.

Why is this important?

Direct communication between communities and researchers requires a forum.  The research conference intends to address this issue and begin working toward achieving our strategic objective, IP5.

Strategic Objective Links and Impact:

  • IP5: Expand capacity for coordinated, relevant Native health research
  • IP1: Continuously improve ATHS [infrastructure] support
