The purpose of the Area Laboratory Quality Assurance Committee is to support continuous quality improvement within area laboratories by promoting professional interaction and cooperation among laboratory personnel and developing a systematized approach to quality management.

The committee is a forum in which ATHS laboratory personnel can openly discuss the challenges they face in the laboratory, cultivate rapport with colleagues, establish common goals, and develop a consensus on useful approaches to problems and mechanisms of action.

To improve patient safety and continuity of care across the Alaska Tribal Health System (ATHS).
